HER QUESTIONS FOR ME

1.If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?

I would sleep!

2.What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?

Right now my interest in essential oils is rising. So I’d love to be able to buy all the oils and components to be more successful at it.

3. What state or country do you never want to go back to?

Missouri left a bad taste in my mouth. I felt a heaviness when I visited there over the summer. But…I was there 2 or 3 days after the duckboats went down and lives were lost. So I often wonder if that was the heaviness I felt.

4. What pets did you have while growing up?

My childhood wasn’t typical as I was shuffled around alot. But when I was in one spot for a while we tended to have cats.

5. What are some small things that make your day better?

One of them is blogging and the community of blogging. I’ve found alot of positive people on wordpress who give me a burst of confidence. I also love a compliment from my husband! And my day boosts when I see something in my kids that shows me their true hearts and I’m given a glimpse of the adult they may become.

6. What age do you wish you could permanently be?

If I could back and know what I know now….12years old to 25. Any of them will do just fine. I could get on the floor and I could get back up. I could stand on my feet for hours and not limp after. 🤪

7. What’s the most heartwarming thing you’ve ever seen?

I’ve seen alot of good over the years. I’ve seen “the public people” misbehave and behave. But recently we had my husband’s grandma’s funeral. My 6 year old is a force to be reckoned with somedays. She can be stubborn and hard to deal with. She can get so upset and seem so hard that I worry at times how I’m going to help shape her and use those things in a positive way.

So we’re at the funeral and they play a song while we all sit and look upon the casket. I look over to my right and she’s just crying her little heart out. But not in a kid cry. It was as if she was feeling what everyone around us wasn’t able to show. It warmed my heart to see that side of her. It warmed my heart that she was pliable at that time to talk to her and her to listen.

Another heartwarming experience happened yesterday as my nine year old tried to step into my workday and relate a bit. I’m a lunchlady at another elementary school than where my girls are. We got our truck in and I was talking about it and the work we did. My Abigail says, “We got a truck in too.” Thing is, that school did get a truck in. And I have no doubt that Abigail saw it out her classroom window as she was looking out. Such a sweetheart.

8. What’s something that you’ve been meaning to try but haven’t gotten around to it.

Hmmm….not much. But then again I tried it all back in the day and that’s what got me in trouble in the first place. 😉

9. What fad or trend do you hope comes back?

Women dressing modestly. Taking care to not show too much. To set a better example in their clothing decisions. That somehow society could reverse the whole daisy Duke, skimpy bikini, cleavage showing shirts, yoga pants thang! Oh and reverse the skinny Jean’s for men! Ewe.

10. What is your favorite childhood memory?

I’ve got two to share. First, the lake with grandma swinging on the double swing that hung from a huge tree branch overlooking the lake with an ice cream.

Second, the day I threw a golf ball and finally hit my bullying, always winning at everything sister in the head. Only time I ever made her cry. Yes mean…but so well deserved at the time. 😯

11. When was the last time you climbed a tree?

Another story…my sister was a tomboy and yes she beat me at everything, even beating me up. (Except the time of the golf ball) She built a treehouse when we lived with our dad. It was intricate in the way you had to climb up to get to the boards that were simply nailed down to a branch to create an unstable platform. You had to climb up a few boards nailed up the side of the trunk. Once you got to the the skinny branch, you had to grab it and swing your legs up and pull the top half of your body onto the boards. Every kid in the neighborhood could do it. Kids smaller than me by half! I couldn’t do it for a long time.

I finally was able to do it! But by then the novelty of the treehouse had worn off. But it still was a great moment for me. I was the type of girl that would rather swing below a tree than be swaying up in its tops.

This was a fun challenge. I open it to anyone who would like to answer these fun questions posed to me by a young lady who help remind me of some good times in my past. And for that, I’m grateful!

  1. That is hilarious about the skinny jeans for guys! I hate those things, ewe is right! You would never catch me wearing those ridiculous jeans. How did that ever become popular? So weird! I wear mostly Adidas pants and basketball type pants. The soft baggy ones. The couple pairs of jeans I have are not tight at all. I like the Carhartt pants instead of jeans anyway. You know, real men’s pants. Man those skinny jeans are sick! 🙂 I agree about the yoga pants and the rest of it too. Yoga pants are downright nasty most of the time. I’m with you, I hope modesty makes a come back! God bless!

  2. Congratulations Amy.
Enjoyed reading your answers. I loved your childhood memory with your grandma. And yes, modesty should comeback although I don’t see it happening too soon.

  3. I LOVE my essential oils! I discovered them a little over 5 years ago, and they have been a life-saver for me (skin issues) and a blessing to my husband (anti-get sick). Can I send you the chart I made (research-based) with info for various oils?
